For each magazine in your account, we give you the approximate in-home delivery date of your next issue. Since this date is an estimate, please allow a few days after the specified date to receive it. Because of varying publishing schedules, certain magazines do not print an issue for every calendar month. To make sure you get full value from your membership, you are given the optional benefit of creating a Substitutes List. Substitute magazines are mailed whenever any of your primary selections are not published in a given month. This is a great way to sample new titles without increased membership fees.
Unfortunately, MAGHOUND does not currently supply back issues of magazines, but we hope to offer this service in the future.

Anyone can purchase a Maghound Gift Membership for their friends, family, coworkers, children's school teachers, BFFs and frienemies. The Gift Buyer simply purchases a desired dollar amount which is then applied as a credit to the Recipient's account when the gift is redeemed. The Recipient gets to choose the number of magazines desired and the specific titles. Monthly charges are automatically deducted until the gift credit runs out. The length of the gift membership will be determined based on the recipient's selections. No, you do not need to be an active MAGHOUND member to purchase a gift. Simply click on Gift Center at the top of any page to get started. During the gift purchase process, you will be required to create a username/password so that we can confirm your purchase and allow you to track your gifts
It's easy! To add a magazine, simply click on the "Add" button. To remove a magazine, just click on the pencil icon
next to the magazine you wish to remove under My Magazines. Then click on the "x" to remove the magazine from your account. When you are done making your changes, click Update to ensure that your changes get saved.
Monthly magazines are printed just once each month. If you choose one of these magazines after it's printed, you'll have to wait until the next month to receive your first issue. One of the best features of MAGHOUND, however, is that we inform you of the magazine's approximate in-home delivery date for each issue- so you'll know when to expect your next issue.
Creating a Substitutes List is completely optional, but we recommend taking advantage of this unique MAGHOUND benefit. The Substitutes List allows you to create a prioritized list of magazines that you are interested in receiving only during months when one or more of your primary selections are not published.

Yes. Existing MAGHOUND members can easily apply any gift credits to their current accounts. Simply click on the Gift Center at the top of any page to purchase a gift.
Your MAGHOUND membership account offers a convenient way to view your magazine selections, change and add magazines, update your personal information, manage your alerts, and review your monthly charges- all in one convenient place! 
You'll find the approximate next in-home date for all your magazines on the My Magazines page in your account. Since this date is an estimate, you might actually receive your issue a few days before or after the specified date. In general, your MAGHOUND magazines will arrive on the same day as magazines ordered through traditional subscriptions.
Certain magazines are more expensive to publish; therefore, there is a small extra charge for the months when you receive a premium title. The extra charge varies by magazine and is based on the price and frequency of that magazine. All premium titles are clearly marked with a blue ribbon. ![]()
From December 2005- February 2006, MAGHOUND tested an early prototype of this service to measure consumer appeal. During this time, we received a lot of valuable information and feedback that helped us build this Web site to better serve magazine readers. We did not retain any customer data from this test.
MAGHOUND features three basic tiers of service: 3 magazine titles for $4.95 per month, 5 magazine titles for $7.95 per month, or 7 magazine titles for $9.95 per month. Each additional magazine above 7 is just $1.00 extra per month. If you choose a premium magazine, there is a small extra charge per month for that magazine. Approximately 10% of the magazines available are premium magazines and are clearly marked with a blue ribbon

For each gift you purchase you have the opportunity to personalize your message and send an email announcement immediately or on a specified date in the future. You also have the option of printing the gift announcement so you can deliver it personally.

Weekly magazines are typically published four times per month, although this number can vary depending on the publishing schedule. If you select a weekly publication, you will receive all weekly issues each week as they are published in a given month. You can select any combination of weekly and monthly magazines, and each counts as one magazine title in your account. Most weekly publications are listed as Premium Titles
and include an extra monthly charge.
A MAGHOUND membership is very different from a traditional subscription. With a subscription, you commit to a specific magazine for a set duration and price. A MAGHOUND membership requires no such commitment. Instead, you're automatically charged on a monthly basis based on the number of individual magazines selected. You have the option to change or cancel your selections at any time- with no penalty or cancellation fee.
As an active MAGHOUND member, you will not receive direct mail from MAGHOUND; however, if you previously subscribed to a magazine, the publisher retained your name and contact information and may contact you. To protect your privacy, MAGHOUND shares member names with participating publishers for delivery purposes only, but member information is not added to each publisher's list of subscribers; therefore, the publisher of your magazine is not aware you are getting the magazine through MAGHOUND.

Gift memberships can be given in any dollar amount, starting at $20 and up to $250. Our Membership Pricing Guide provides recommendations based on average MAGHOUND memberships.
If you decide to cancel current subscriptions with other publishers so you can include them in your MAGHOUND account, you must contact those publishers directly. Unfortunately, we are not able to cancel subscriptions on your behalf.
Please ensure that the same magazine is not listed twice in your "My Magazines" list. If so, simply delete one listing and replace it with another magazine. Alternatively, you may have selected a magazine through MAGHOUND that you already subscribe to. If you have an existing subscription, you can go to "My Magazines" and choose a replacement magazine. If your subscription ends and you want to continue receiving that magazine, you can simply add it back to your MAGHOUND account at that time.
Once you are a MAGHOUND member, you have the option to put your account on temporary hold for up to three months. We will notify the publisher as soon as we receive your request. Because of order processing lead times, please be sure to make your request well in advance to ensure the hold on your account takes place within your desired time frame.

MAGHOUND will make best reasonable efforts to accommodate mid-month account changes. For a detailed summary of current and future months, please refer to your 'Membership Overview,' where you can find the Approximate In-Home Date for all your selections along with the amount of your monthly charge.
Yes. All MAGHOUND gifts must be redeemed (not fully consumed) within one year from the date of purchase. If the gift that you purchased expires and has not been redeemed, you will be given the opportunity to reissue the gift or to apply it to your own account. You can also request a refund for unredeemed gifts by contacting Customer Care.

A credit card is required in the event that your gift membership amount only covers a partial month of service when your gift credit reaches a zero balance. Your card will be charged for the remaining amount for that month. For your convenience, your membership will automatically continue to avoid any interruption in your service. Of course, there is never a commitment to continue, you can cancel your membership at anytime.

You can change your selection of magazines as often as you like. If a magazine that you opt to change has already been processed for the month, your change will take effect the following month. You'll always be informed when your new selections are expected to arrive.
Currently, MAGHOUND does not offer international versions of magazines.
Yes. If you receive a MAGHOUND gift membership and already have an account, simply click on the Redeem link in your email announcement or visit the Gift Center and enter your redemption code. After clicking Apply Gift, your monthly charges will automatically be deducted from your gift balance until your gift reaches a zero balance. At that point, we'll revert back to charging your credit/debit card on file.
No. Once you set up your MAGHOUND account and select your magazine titles, we will send you those same titles automatically each month until you change your selections.
When your gift credit reaches a zero balance we will automatically start charging your credit/debit card on file. It is possible that there will be one month where a portion of your charge will be applied to your gift credit and the remaining balance will be charged to your credit/debit on file. Remember, at any point you can visit your Membership Overview to see how much of your gift you've used and how much you have left.

The MAGHOUND service month is the month when you receive a magazine issue in your home, while cover date is the month that's printed on the magazine cover. For example, a magazine with a cover date of November will frequently be delivered in the month of October. Your monthly membership charge corresponds to your service month.
No. With MAGHOUND you are never charged for postage and handling.
No, subscription contracts can only be canceled by you, the subscriber. As a third-party service, we do not have the authority to cancel on your behalf.

MAGHOUND is a completely independent magazine service. Ordering through us does not affect any current subscriptions you may already have. So, if you order a magazine through us that you already subscribe to, you will receive a duplicate copy. If you do not wish to receive two copies of the same magazine, we suggest selecting a different magazine through MAGHOUND now so you don't disrupt your current subscription. Then, later on, you can add that magazine to your MAGHOUND account whenever you choose.
